I am happy to announce that ver0.5 of (franken)log is now available for download.

This MAJOR release focuses on the following items:

• Creating independent .php files for each of: header, footer and sidebar
  • so that they can be used by all other files for the purposes of reducing duplicate code, consistency in html/css, and to make future updates streamlined
• Updating Initial styles: removed as many inline styles as possible, and rewrote styles at a base level rather than ID/CLASS level for easier long term maintenance
• Maintaining core functionality: this required the modification of some JS & HTML, and in some cases the rewrite or correction of smaller sections of existing code
• Integrate Existing Bug Fixes: rolled over any bug fixes & enhancements previously made to log.kvl.me
• Transition from IMG to SVG: replaced all images with svgs to make stylings and adjustments easier while helping to improve visual quality

(franken)log is still a rough first release of on a road where I would like to take my embodiment of hyblog, with many known bugs that still need squashing. Needless to say, the work done here will make the future versions easier to tackle.

I’m now well on my way to wrapping up the planned updates for ver0.6— which is now in use over at log.kvl.me. I’m going to take some time once ver0.6 is wrapped up to step back from this project and use what I’ve done for a while to see how it feels. When I bring myself back to the project, I’ll publicly release ver0.7 (when it’s ready) and then the final 1.0 release in a few months time.
